Is AthanGo really free?
Yes. The dashboard and Android TV app are free to use. There is no subscription or payment step to set up your mosque.
What do I need to get started?
A verified AthanGo account, your mosque’s location and timetable, and a compatible Android device for the display. The setup guide walks you through your calculation method and Asr convention. Set your actual Jama’ah times before pairing a screen.
Does the display work without internet?
After setup, the installed TV app saves your mosque settings and calculates prayer times on the device. New settings, pairing, revocation and app downloads need a connection. The dashboard shows when information is cached.
Can I use a Samsung or LG smart TV?
The APK is for compatible Android devices, including Android TV. It does not install directly on Samsung Tizen, LG webOS or Apple TV. You can connect a compatible Android TV device to those screens.
Can I use it outside Hong Kong?
Yes. You can enter worldwide coordinates and an IANA timezone, select a supported calculation method, and adjust prayer offsets. Always confirm the calculation method and community schedule with your local mosque.
Do worshippers need to create an account?
No. Only the person managing the mosque’s timetable needs an account. The paired display shows the schedule to everyone without a community sign-in.
